The soft launch for LITE Lab@HKU took place on 18 March 2019 in front of the iDendron community at the University of Hong Kong (HKU).

During the session, Mr. Brian Tang, the founding executive director of LITE Lab@HKU, shared his insights on the key elements for establishing and maintaining a startup as well as the significance of timely legal advice to meet the wide-ranging and specific needs of tech startups.

HKU iDendron, HKU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub is a startup incubator founded in 2017 with the aim of nurturing entrepreneurial and innovative spirit on campus, incubating HKU early-stage startups, establishing interdisciplinary cooperation and engaging the community to support human endeavors and society developments.

The incubator is located on HKU campus, and startup applicants hoping to join the community must be current full-time HKU students. HKU iDendron has housed 70 HKU startups and hosts approximately 90 events, pitching and showcase sessions per year.
